The Katie Herb Foundation, Inc. is a public, non-profit 501(c)3 corporation founded in honor of, Katie Dorthy Herb, an infant who was born with a congenital heart defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. HLHS is a congenital heart defect where the left side of the heart is underdeveloped. HLHS is fatal unless treated with a series of open heart surgeries.
